Grandma Jean's 80th Birthday

I forgot my camera, but Aunt Moe did a wonderful job with the photography.  We all had a good time and Grandma seemed to really enjoy hanging out with her "girlfriends."

The great-grandkids all had a great time playing together.

No pictures of Charlie today, just thought I would share some things I enjoyed from my quiet time this morning.  I found this quote and thought it did an excellent job describing true repentance and the glory of the gospel -

The Works of Thomas Goodwin, 1867
"Fall down upon thy knees afore him, and wish with a heart broken to water, acknowledge, as Shimei, they treason and rebellions against him who never did thee hurt; and acknowledge, with a rope ready fitted to they neck by they own hands, as they Benhadad's servants wore; that is, confessing that if he will; and present thy may... Tell Him that He may shew his justice on thee, if he will; and present thy naked breast, thy hateful soul as a butt and mark for him, if He please, to shoot his arrows into and sheathe his sword in.  Only desire him to remember that he sheathed his sword first into the bowels of his Son, Zech 13:7, when he made his soul an offering for sin."

And this passage of scripture is a good prayer to pray for those who haven't accepted Christ as Lord.
"Gently instruct in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape form the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will."  2 Timothy 2:25-26, NIV

Our first event of the summer

We went to Mom and Dad's last weekend and played in the sprinkler.  Don't pick on his swim diaper, it isn't far enough into the season for us to have actually thought about bringing a swimsuit with us.

He dried off about three times before he finally decided to call it quits.  Every time Grandma dried him off, he shook off the towel and said "Again?"

Needless to say, he slept very well that night.

Charlie turns 2!

Charlie's 2-Year Birthday Party was this weekend.  He had a grand time, not so much because of the party,
but because his three cousins came to visit.
They were busy all weekend and he is still catching up on sleep.

Johnny's family poses for photos.  My family, not so much.  But I promise my family was there.
See, they were there, they were just busy eating...

Aren't the girls adorable?
That's right, the one on the right is only 5 months older than Charlie.  She is a giant (and Charlie is a shrimp...)

Charlie was so grateful that his cousins taught him how to jump on the couch...

I'm Back

I missed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the announcement that the new baby is going to be a boy.  I have been distracted by anything and everything.  But now I am distracted by Adobe Lightroom.  I am on day 1 of my 30 day free trial trying to decide if I want it as my 5th-Year Anniversary gift.  So far I love it...  Below are Charlie's 2 year photos, edited in Lightroom.
Okay, this one is actually from way back in November.  Thanksgiving at Nana and Papa's.

The two year photo shoot starts now-

I tried to get some shots of Charlie in his birthday garb, before his birthday.  He was very uncooperative.

But he is still a handsome almost-2-year-old.
